Representatives of GRS Consulting staff will provide reports to the Fiscal Management Committee on both the Montgomery County Public Schools’ Pension and Other Post-employment Benefits actuarial results as of July 1, 2018, and the recommended funding requirements for Fiscal Year 2020.
The Fiscal Management Committee will hear and discuss the performance of the Montgomery County Public Schools defined benefit pension and the Consolidated Retiree Health Benefit Trust (also known as the OPEB trust) for Fiscal Year 2018.
Representatives of CliftonLarsonAllen, Montgomery County Public Schools’ external auditor, will present results of the recent external audit of our financial statements for Fiscal Year 2018 ending on June 30, 2018. The presentation will include an overview of the financial statements as reflected in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and discuss internal accounting controls and findings from the audit.
The Fiscal Management Committee will receive an update on the status of maintenance of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) playing fields and athletic fields. The Fiscal Management Committee also will hear from Montgomery County Parks Department representatives and discuss the collaboration between MCPS and the Montgomery County Parks Department on field maintenance.
Staff will provide an update on the development of the Superintendent’s Recommended Fiscal Year 2020 Operating Budget.
