This discussion will focus on the oversight process that the Fiscal Management Committee will use in Fiscal Year 2016.  In coordination with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) senior staff, the Fiscal Management Committee will conduct in-depth reviews of major components of the MCPS operating and capital budgets, including but not limited to the K-12 budget, Central Administration, Special Education, Facilities, and Transportation.  The discussion today will focus on developing the work plan associated with this process.

At the April 27, 2015, Board of Education meeting, Board members requested information on what other school districts charged with respect to extracurricular fees.  This topic was referred to the Fiscal Management Committee for further review.  The committee will discuss the findings presented in the table provided.

The three attached memoranda recommend award of benefit vendor changes for the dental preferred provider (PPO), vision, and flexible spending account administration contracts. These recommendations will be presented to the Fiscal Management Committee of the Board of Education and to the Board at its August 20, 2015, meeting.
