During the November 2nd work session, the Board of Education put forth the following alternatives and decided to hold a hearing on the CIP on November 16, 2017. (Please note: The November 16th hearing is for consideration of the CIP, not dedicated to the consideration of Supplement A.)
ALTERNATIVES
- Regarding Richard Montgomery Elementary School #5 Boundary Options, include for the Board’s consideration Option 6, with the buildout, and include the new numbers.
- Regarding Richard Montgomery Elementary School #5 Boundary Options, include for the Board’s consideration a modified Option 2, with adjustments made to the Beall service area at B5 or B6 for more equitable distribution of FARMS rates. [See submission from the Hungerford Civic Association]

- Regarding Richard Montgomery Elementary School #5 Boundary Options, include for the Board’s consideration an option that balances out the socio-economic diversity and FARM rates for the new school, while trying to maintain stated criteria in Boundary Advisory Committee’s report.
- Regarding Richard Montgomery Elementary School #5 Boundary Options, include for the Board’s consideration an option that solicits stakeholder input and contains more equitable recommendations for FARMS distribution of students no later than November 27, 2017.
- Regarding the superintendent’s recommendations for the Quince Orchard Cluster, the Board has asked that staff evaluate development patterns in the Quince Orchard and Gaithersburg clusters and overutilization at the elementary school level in both clusters, and identify possible options to address overutilization.
